Dan Olsen has extensive experience in supporting organizations in developing good working environments and strong teams. For Dan, it's all about people – and how through structured work with culture and leadership, you can create what he calls magnetic workplaces .
– We work to ensure that employees thrive, feel valued, and have a real sense of belonging. That is the foundation for everything from motivation to results.
In search of a quality tool
In the spring of 2025, Dan was looking for a new tool for his development work. Quality assurance is important for the experienced organizational developer, who sets high standards.
– I was unsure if it would be up to the mark – we quality assure all the tools we use. It has to be intuitive and based on research. The course was surprisingly well-conducted. Jens Nässtrøm, researcher and organizational psychologist, presented the methodology in a thorough manner.
Dan highlights the exchange of experiences with the other participants as an important part of the learning outcome.
– The professional community elevates the experience. You get to discuss real challenges and learn how others have used the tool – that's valuable.
Quick to use – with good experiences
Shortly after the course, Dan used the tool in a development process at a customer, in a management team of 10 people.
Together they carried out
Individual mapping
Workshop with introduction to the research basis and the tool's method
Reflection session with review of results and team dynamics
The workshop lasted three hours and yielded clear results:
– It was an aha experience for several people: Why do I react the way I do? How does my colleague prefer to work? It opens up for reflection in a safe way, he says.
Dan describes Ambitionprofile as a tool with low threshold and high relevance:
– It's playful, but not superficial. It becomes a natural entry point into conversations that are otherwise difficult to have – especially around stress, interaction and burnout.
A professional community through the Trainers Community
After certification, Dan has continued to actively use Ambitionprofile Academy. He describes it as an important resource both professionally and socially:
A place for further replenishment and reflection
A platform for sharing experiences and advice
A way to stay connected with other certified trainers , share issues and learn from each other
– It gives me the opportunity to address my own cases and get input quickly. You are not alone after certification – there is a community around it.
The way forward
For Dan, Ambitionprofile has become a natural tool in his leadership development and culture building work. He works closely with his clients, and knows that good processes require trust, insight and the ability to see the big picture.
– We are often let into the core business – strategy, culture, people development. Ambitionprofile helps us do that job better,” he says.
Dan finds that the tool provides organizations with valuable insight – both at the individual and team level. Not to pigeonhole people, but to create understanding and provide support where needed.
– Ambitionprofile is different from many other tools. It doesn't lock you into one type – it opens up for development and adaptation. It is a good starting point for practical work with people in change.
